EMC / RF COMPETENCE CENTER
Huber Automotive is actively working on the standardisation and EMC/HF/signal integrity protection of future high-speed communication systems (up to 25 GHz) for control units in vehicles. Application examples include autonomous driving, high-resolution display connections, camera networking and sensor data processing.
In addition to participating in various committees such as CiA and Open Alliance, we work with new technologies and secure them for our project partners with a focus on EMC/HF/signal integrity. This also includes the development and construction of test control units, topology, …. and, for example, measurement in our own EMC hall.
CAN in Automation
CAN in Automation (CiA) is the international user and manufacturer group for the CAN network (Controller Area Network), which is internationally standardised in the ISO 11898 series. The non-profit organisation was founded in 1992. Its aim is to provide an unbiased platform for future developments of the CAN protocol and to promote the image of CAN technology.
OPEN ALLIANCE
The OPEN Alliance (One-Pair Ether-Net) Inc. is a non-profit, open industry alliance of primarily automotive industry and technology providers working together to promote the widespread adoption of Ethernet-based networks as the standard for automotive networking applications.

STANDARDIZATION PROCESS
- Member and active participation in the standardization committees Open Alliance and CiA
- Monitoring of activities in the IEEE 802.3 group (e.g. multigigabit Ethernet, power-over-coax)
- Work on the following technologies: CAN, CAN FD, CAN XL, 100ABSE-T1, 1000BASE-T1, automotive Multi-Gigabit Ethernet (2.5G, 5G, 10G) etc.
EMC CAUSE ANALYSIS
WE SUPPORT YOU
Huber Automotive also conducts EMC root cause analyses to provide you with the best possible support in the event of problems with your electronics. We support you with numerous methods and measurement technology options, such as circuit diagram and layout reviews, EMC measurements, measurement of electrical or magnetic near fields, in order to quickly and effectively identify sources of EMC interference and suggest solutions.
EMC AND HIGH FREQUENCY TECHNOLOGY
EMC / HF EXPERIMENTAL VEHICLE
Huber Automotive AG has its own EMC vehicle test vehicle for the EMC measurement of vehicles. The ability to also measure vehicles in EMC halls completes the portfolio of the EMC/HF competence centre and environmental testing. This makes it possible, for example, to realise various wiring harnesses and routing paths according to customer specifications and to determine practical and extremely meaningful results in a real vehicle environment. This provides a complete and continuous measurement chain from the development of vehicle control units (or EMC test control units/test systems), through EMC measurement at component level in the in-house EMC/HF competence centre, including environmental testing, to EMC vehicle measurement.
In particular, the comparison between EMC component measurements and EMC vehicle measurements is extremely relevant in practice, as it is well known that results between the two measurements can show significant differences. It is not uncommon for EMC limit values to be exceeded in EMC vehicle measurements, even though the EMC component measurement was passed. This gives our customers the opportunity to work with us at an early stage of ECU development or in the EMC validation of new communication technologies, components, wiring harnesses, etc. to determine the EMC behaviour in the vehicle. to test the EMC behaviour in the vehicle. This means that EMC problems can be recognised at an early stage and time-consuming and costly rework can be avoided.
ENVIRONMENTAL TESTING
SUBJECT AREAS, SERVICES, EQUIPMENT
In addition to the EMC/HF laboratory, Huber Automotive AG operates its own environmental laboratory with a wide range of measurement technology. Various climatic chambers, temperature cabinets and laboratory cabinets as well as a shaker are available. This means that environmental tests (including humidity) can be carried out in accordance with current environmental standards. It is also possible to combine HF and environmental measurements.
